I am a researcher at the Center for Cognitive and Decision Science (CDS), University of Basel, Switzerland, and an adjunct researcher at the Center for Adaptive Rationality (ARC), Max Planck Institute for Human Development, Germany.
I investigate the cognitive underpinnings of human memory and decision making using a pluralistic methodological approach involving experiments, computational modeling, big data analytics, and process tracing.
I am also the founder of The R Bootcamp, an organization of Swiss-based data scientists offering courses and consulting for academic institutions and businesses.

The Aging Lexicon Project seeks to understand adult age differences in the development of lexical and semantic knowledge.
On June 7-9, 2018, the Symposium on The Aging Lexicon gathered in Basel experts in Psychology, Linguistics, Neuroscience, and related fields to discuss open issues concerning the aging lexicon.

Methods for studying and modeling human cognition
manco-dev - A python-based GUI for semi-manual spell-correction and word processing.
memnet - R package offering efficient implementations of network science tools to facilitate research into human (semantic) memory containing, in its current version, methods to infer networks from verbal fluency data, network growth models, (switcher-) random walk processes, and tools to analyze and visualize networks. To deliver maximum performance the majority of the code is written in C++. vignette, dev
cstab - R Package for the selection of the number of clusters via normalized clustering instability and other methods. web, dev
mousetrap - R package for the analysis of mouse movements in computerized experiments, a method becoming increasingly popular in the cognitive sciences. The mousetrap package offers functions for importing, preprocessing, analyzing, aggregating, and visualizing mouse-tracking data. article, dev
choicepp-dev - R development package for the analysis and high-performance simulation of risk decision making, including, e.g., models of Cumulative Prospect Theory, Decisions from Experience, Heuristics.
spreadr-dev - R development package for the simulation of the spreading of activation among nodes in a network.

Data analytics for Psychology and Business - practice seminar on using data analytic tools to generate insight for Psychological research and Business purposes.
Introduction to neural networks - seminar on the theoretical foundations and implementation of deep neural networks and their uses in cognitive research.
What are good decisions? - theoretical seminar discussing in historical order foundational texts on the question of rationality and normative decision making.
Natural language processing - seminar on using the analysis of digitized text for psychological discovery and theory testing.
The R Bootcamp - R courses introducing academics and professionals to data science and applied machine learning with R.
